Bokhoven comes to Pro-Line with sixteen years of sales experience. He is a lifelong resident of New Sharon and graduated from North Mahaska High School in 1986. He then attended Upper Iowa University in Fayette, Iowa. His hobbies include auto racing and golf. “I’m excited about the opportunity that Jim and Barb have given me to be a part of such a wonderful and successful company,” says Bokhoven. “The opportunity to help this company grow to the next level is not only a challenge, but something that is also very exciting to be a part of.” Bokhoven’s father, Gary, was a successful Salesman for Pro-Line before losing his battle to cancer last August.

Pro-Line Receives Contract for Brooklyn Travel Center
Touted as the largest BP Amoco Travel Center in Poweshiek County, ground was broken on the new Randhawa Travel Center Saturday, September 17.
Pro-Line Buildings, of New Sharon, was awarded the contract from Dr. Gurcharan Randhawa and his two brothers, Pargat and Sarabjit Randhawa. Mack VanderBeek was the successful Salesman representing Pro-Line in this transaction.
The new Travel Center will be located south of Brooklyn 80 Truck Stop, and will feature a 24-hour restaurant, a store and five pumps to allow ten cars to fuel at a time. There will also be five diesel pumps.
“Hopefully we will be able to compete with other area truck stops,” said Dr. Randhawa. Dr. Randhawa and his two brothers formed a corporation last summer and purchased Brooklyn 80 with plans to build a new travel center.
Manatts, Inc. completed the dirt work and Pro-Line will construct the 65 foot by 170 foot building. Patriot Bank is financing the project.
“We try to give the business to the local contractors so the money can stay in the local community,” Dr. Gurcharan said.
Currently about 17-20 full-time and part-time employees man Brooklyn 80. Once the new travel center is open, the employee number is expected to double.
Every effort will be made to keep Brooklyn 80 open while the new building, expected to be completed in December, is being constructed.

Taintor Lumber Closes – Relocates at Pro-Line’s New Facility in New Sharon
August 6, 2005 will be a bittersweet day for John Veenstra and The Taintor Lumber Company in Taintor, Iowa. Pro-Line Buildings of New Sharon purchased The Taintor Lumber Company a couple of years ago. Since then, it has evolved to the “manufacturing center” for Pro-Line while maintaining a retail center for customers. Pro-Line’s new facility, just south of New Sharon on Hwy 63, was constructed to allow all employees to work under one roof. This included Taintor Lumber.
On August 6, Mason Auctioneers will be conducting a huge auction at Taintor Lumber. Advertising for this event will be in all the local newspapers, as well as the Des Moines Register.
John Veenstra, current Manager and former owner, is both excited and saddened by this event. The Taintor Lumber Company has been open since 1915 and has worked 43 years as an employee/owner of the lumber yard.
Pro-Line employees will be serving food throughout the day for those attending. Mark this on your calendar of “to-do” items…you won’t want to miss this auction!

Pro-Line Breaks Ground for New Facility
“A Dream Come True”
Jim and Barb VanderBeek, owners of The Pro-Line Co., Inc., joined together with many of their employees and business associates on Monday, April 26 at 4:00 p.m. to celebrate the exciting future of their company as they broke ground for their new facility just south of New Sharon on Highway 63. Jim VanderBeek took the shovel firmly in hand and dug a hole that represented the 84 x 100 office with an attached 75 x 400 warehouse facility to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2004.
Plans have been on the drawing board for several months as Pro-Line has simply outgrown their present facilities. Pro-Line purchased Taintor Lumber Company in 2000 and converted it into their manufacturing plant. Their office is located on Main Street in New Sharon. Jim VanderBeek is extremely excited to bring all of his people together into one facility. “Realistically, this is our best move. Not only is it more cost efficient, it also brings a stronger sense of connectivity to our team of employees.”
The building will showcase Pro-Line’s talent in the pre-engineered wood-frame industry. It will contain work space for the office staff and sales staff and will have a welcome reception area. The rear of the building will house the manufacturing plant.
Pro-Line has been making dreams come true for years for hundreds of customers by providing them with quality pre-engineered post-frame and steel-frame buildings. Last Monday, VanderBeek realized his own life-long dream…and in his own words, “Dreams really do come true.”
